And why didn’t she tell him to watch the kids? When I was growing up, when one of my parents was in the bathroom, I knew to not even knock on the door!
People, would you tune in to read a comic about a mom and dad who do everything exactly right and remember to put up the baby gate and lock the door and watch the kids at all the right times? No!
I got a good laugh out of that one and so did everyone I know who has little kids because despite their best efforts that still seems to happen.
I agree that we wouldn’t read a comic where everything was perfect, that would be boring. But seeing this makes me glad again that I don’t have kids. It’s rather irritating. How many times can you think, why doesn’t she clobber him?
I went to bathe when my oldest son was a baby, told my husband to listen for him, heard the baby crying a long time, got out of the bath, and went to look at him, and my husband said: I didn’t know you were in the bath! Men don’t always make good babysitters!( and his grandmother was there too!)
Ahem! I agree with y’all whoever put your comments on this about that comic strip of FBorFW. Sigh! Why can’t she used her common sense before she went taking the bubble bath? And of course, tell John to WATCH Mike and Liz! I think it is so hilariously funny!
I grew up with a large family and only one bathroom, so when you took a bath, you still kept the door unlocked for “emergencies”, and kids will always try to be with Mom whenever they can. This is funny and brings back great memories of driving Mom crazy.
I haven’t had a bath in about 7 years. What a coincidence that my oldest is about to turn 7 ;). I rarely shower without interruption but I don’t care. It’s life.

Poor Elly can’t catch a break. John should have watched the kids for her.

It’s not the kids fault! It’s her dopey husband! Typical, dopey husband!

As soon as she locks the door, someone will need to use the facilities. Guaranteed.

I remember those days - and my kids had the same problem.

I would say “Get out please, I’ll talk to you later, go see Daddy”. Then I would lock the door. Simple.

And she left Lizzie in the tub.
