Gweedo & Gee1a: “Octomum” still lives in nani’s (Hindi for maternal grandma, meaning Octomum’s mum) home and basically foists the duty to nani!

You have to start the night before.

John can do it ‘cause I did once while my wife was in the hospital. To prasrinivara, I believe “nani” was ready to throw her out before the eight arrived. Six was too much for her.

doubleagle64 - you are correct. Nani IS tossing them out. Papa is buying them a house … and California is giving them nanny care etc etc. I think Octo should lose the children, and be put in jail for 14 counts of “failing to protect a child” or what ever the CA law it.

RobbyC - please remember this comic is nearly 30 years old! times and attitudes were changing…

ive been in johns shoes, my late wife went out of town for a week and i volunteered to stay home with our little one. what an eye opening experience that was, it gave me a whole new perspective of what a mother was all about. God Bless all mothers

My husband would get stressed out from work, and then he’d say, “Why don’t you go to my job for me?” I’d reply, “Okay, but that means you get to stay home and take care of the kids.” He quickly decided it wouldn’t be a good trade.

OK, I may get cream pie’d but I’ll admit it. Housewifery/mothering is tougher and more complex than many husbands imagine (if they haven’t tried it, which seems incredible to me considering weekends and holidays). Still I’d rather do that than be responsible for hauling trash, building roads, or trying to make enough sales for eight-ten hours five days a week. I guess I’m one of the few ‘Plugger’ types left who also had many friends (70’s) in one income households where neither the husbands OR wives would have liked to switch.

well, at least he DID recognize that it was a summer jacket :D

RobbyC, I don’t think they’re reruns, they’re new, but still supposed to be taking place in the 80s. My take, anyway.
