My older borther and I used to go to the school bus stop across the street by ourselves too until we moved to a different town after third and first grade. There’s even a framed wall picture of us doing so. Good and ol’ times.
Portrait of a Stage Mom: The Formative Years. Reminds me of a certain NHL player whose mom was “involved” in his career like that when he was drafted about 19 or 20 years ago.
Duck, I think you are. Having just read the strip where Farley dies, I can understand how Elly feels. I notice no one answered my question from yesterday.
Your name just gets shortened here to save time and typing. Usually it’s shortened so that you can at least recognize it’s you. Everyone picks out what part of your name they will use.
In your case, mr (mister) fits. You could read your name as Mr. Oberts ; )
I’m not quite sure, but isn’t it kind of masochistic to want to cry? But then, there are chick flicks and soap operas, so maybe it’s a whole realm I’m unaware of. Even if they are aimed at my gender.
Cheeky, different people are affected by different things….differently.
Some cry, some people dont talk about it. I just read the strip where Farley died today, it didnt affect me until i read the one where they go to the tree. That was just sad.
Good point Burgundy. Like I said, the Farley dying didnt affect me, mainly because I knew what was coming. What really got to me, was the strip when Elizabeth and April go to Farleys Tree, because the spirit of Farley shows up, and the whole conversation.
However, there are times when I get really mad, like when the Cowboys lose, but thats just me.

Elly looks like the adult Elizabeth in panel 2. Looks like Mike’s gonna miss mom too.

I guess it’s a matter of mixed feelings. Mom’s happy the kids are in school so she gets some time to herself but at the same time she misses them.

Comic, I’m talking about right now, hence why no mention of April, however nice catch, as I did forget about April.
Now I feel VERY young after reading a few comments.

Gave up yet? Good….OK, you’d probably have to be a genius to understand what I mean. Unless you favorited the comic I started this discussion on.

Hey, Duck, Don’t even try to figure it out. Remember, man, woman…left brain, right brain.

Hey 88, I’ll answer it.

Thank you summerdog, I frequent the SOTU boards, names get changed, and its usually not to save time, nor is it nice.

Oh, all right. I can understand that.
I still find Elly baffling though :P
mroberts88 about 15 years ago
Wait, you can understand which?
How is Elly baffling? Her kids are growing up.
