Why is he crying? Is this some kind of anti-mustelid prejudice? He is related to otters, ferrets, martens, and ermine! Much better than being another bow-wow.

I’m with Cantiloper. When I read this strip Axel sounds in my head like Brian on “Family Guy.”

That’s a tear of joy and relief! Axel is forever a wolverine… and anybody who doesn’t know this fact after today, should be [insert something bad here].

He’s crying because, up ‘til now, he’s been a Michigan State fan!

I’m disappointed. I was hoping he was an elephant.

Axel is sad because he LOVES running jokes.

I can just see Axel trying to form his own pride parade: “We’re here! We’re wolverines! Get used to it!”
