I always go back and read a comic I post a comment on (and not just on Big Top - but that’s a whole other story). So I guess if we want to say something to gmartin, we have to leave that to the night crew.

I get up at 4:30 AM and work 10 to 12 hour days. I take a quick look at the comics before I leave for work since some folks comment in the early hours when the comics are first updated. Everyday when I get home I go back just to read the comments that have been made during the day. I rarely make comments, but I enjoy reading others. I have friends, I have a life, I am not bored, and I like Jimmy Buffett. Sorry to disappoint you gmartin997.

Maybe it’s because I’m watching the first episode of HBO’s “John Adams,” but I still feel this is an open forum, not restricted to blind admiration of Chip and the strip. Disagreeable or not, gmartin is entitled to his opinion, and to even change his mind and read when he says he won’t! I think all comments, good or bad, insightful or made with a blind eye, funny or dumb, whatever, are fair game. Sometimes things get a bit gooey, yes, but that’s as fair as should be. So, I think even the disagreeable posts are allowable…look at all the fun everyone has dumping on gmartin!! It slips towards descending to his level, but is as fair as his comments. I have indicated my feelings about some of the weaknesses, and the characters I miss; and look at it as constructive criticism. Most others disagree; but any way you look at it, I find it open discourse…and to be supported!

I’ve been an avid Overboard fan for a number of years, and a silent comment reader for quite some time as well. Dry - I agree whole heartedly with your “well put” to MoParMitch. MPM - I share your view. I enjoy reading the comments and interactions between the readers on all subject matter. Thanks for keeping my interest piqued.

Brenzluv , I might ordinarily agree with you, but lately trolls have subverted many otherwise delightful strips. Having the citizens of Gocomics rise up and drive off the trolls is a good thing IMHO!

It’s almost midnight and I am back again! Or, as Jimmy Buffett said, “It’s midnight and I’m not famous yet”. I welcome all comments, and will defend your right to say it, but when I disagree, I will let you know.
