CarlosinDetroit that line from Star Wars always bothered me - a parsec is a measure of distance, not time. Itâs like saying âI can make it to Boston in less than a 100 milesâ It would make sense if he was boasting about knowing shortcuts, but not when he was boasting about the speed of his shipâŠ
Actually, making the Kessel Run in twelve parsecs IS a way to state the Millennium Falconâs speed, because it means that youâre shoving your vessel through the Maw right up the middle - past black holes and other gravitational anomalies thatâd rip your ship apart if youâre not fast enough, and which practically every other pilot avoids.
Of course, if youâve read the books, you know that he can only say that because his meters broke while pulling off some insane maneuvers, butâŠ
Back to the topic on hand - youâd think Louie would shed less fur, what wit taking so many walks in the rainâŠ
I know Iâm coming in very late on this, but on STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS âparsecsâ are used to describe the length of the shortcut in hyperspace (the number of parsecs in normal space is much greater). Apparently the more efficient or âfasterâ the hyperdrive, the shorter the cut it can makeâŠwhich says something about the hypothetical physics of the whole scenarioâŠ
Uh, Iâll think Iâll stick with the scenarios right in this strip. :)

Gimmickgenius: I love your Foghorn Leghorn comment. That would be something Louie would definitely use.

Frog - The line was deliberate, it was supposed to show that Han didnât know what he was talking about.

good afternoon crew and good luck allan as for louie, i donât think even zzzzzzzooooooooom would be fast enough to show his squirrel chasing speed.

Nick FYI - Labs NEVER stop shedding. If you saw the amount of fur in my house, youâd swear I have a bald dog.

Louie, get that squirrel! Then befriend it and make it part of the crew.

Let us just say Louie was going 2/3âs Impulse speed. Depending on his distance he can go up to Warp 4 on the Cochran Warp Speed Scale.
