Now I’m confused…it seems like everbody’s aunts is named Marian, or am I wrong?

I believe it was a fairly popular name at the time. Maybe everyone did have an Aunt Marian.

I was wondering the same thing. Weird. They’re all spelled with an “A” instead of Marion.

So both Violet and CB have aunts Marian, but Lucy has Marion. OK.

Maybe it’s the same Marian! Marian, Mrs Gray and Mrs Brown might be three sisters – the future Mrs Gray went to college, married a wealthy and successful man, spent years not talking to her inferior sisters (hence why Charlie Brown doesn’t know Violet when she first appears), recently moved back to the neighbourhood and now spends all her time talking about the many ways in which her husband is better than Mr Brown; a trait which her daughter Violet has picked up!

You can’t choose them, but you can be estranged from them.
