That’s the zip cod for Sebatopol, California, about 50 miles north of San Francisco. I suppose Schulz must have been living there at the time. Doesn’t seem it could really have been meant to be the setting for Peanuts, however, as while that part of California can get cold in the winter and get some frost, even occasional snow flurries, it certainly wouldn’t get the level of snow often depicted in Peanuts during winter. I lived in San Jose, about 40 miles southeast of S.F., during the ’80s.

that is where the schultz museum is located. well worth the effort. downtown (it’s a small town) are peanuts statues.
