Lucy fumes, "Rats! For one brief moment I thought I had him!"<BR><BR>

At least Lucy lost this time. Of course Beethoven was not the only great classical music composer.

The names she listed appear to be in alphabetical order. Did Sparky just look at a list of famous composers and write ’me down?

Engelbert Humperdinck (the singer who named himself after the composer) was just about to become internationally famous when this strip appeared, but he didn’t really hit it big until 1967…

Schroeder can answer “they were great” because Lucy limited her list to those who are already decomposed. For example, Stravinsky (1882-1971) does not get mentioned.
