Guys have the same problem when talking with women, Jane. What they say and what they mean can be wildly different and we donât have a universal translator.

Maybe Dorothy does need to be more direct SOMEtimes, but in this case, sheâs just being sarcastic, and her meaning is pretty plain. I would have a hard time, myself, with someone who couldnât understand a little sarcasm, whether in anger, or more often, with me, in jest. And Jane, as best I can recall from when this ran, is NOT being exactly forthcoming herself as to her own other relationships. When sheâs trying to fudge the truth, why should she expect heartfelt honesty from Dorothy?

And that is why I started appreciating male comics more after I started dating women. Some of us canât be direct worth a flying freep.
