What did people do before television? Invent the wheel. Establish languages and religions. Create art. Explore. Combat disease. How do you know so much?! Television.
This exactly expresses my gratitude to television for showing me the world during my childhood. My adult understanding of history, geography, and science largely rests on what I learned from shows such as “Omnibus”, “Victory at Sea”, “Kiernan’s Kaleidoscope”, and “What in the World” (a local Phila. show with professors of archeology trying to identify artifacts from the Univ. of Pa. Museum).
Of course I had my children’s favorites too, but the longest-lasting joy for me was learning from what’s on TV, which I continue with the History, Discovery, and Science Channels, among others. “Vast wasteland” my eye!
Television. The pinnacle of human invention. The peak of sapient achievement. The highest form of technology available to man. the reason that Americas dying.
