To answer the second panel question, the adverb for adjective “fast” is also “fast”. Oddly, the adverb for adjective “quick” is both “quick” and “quickly”. What, you’re expecting logic from a Low German dialect overwhelmed by Norman French plus borrowings from over 100 other languages? (But English is still better than any language with grammatic gender.)
