Beck has nothing to do with politics . . . He’s an just another sold out entertainer looking for his next buck. Mick with his lips turned in.

it seems to me that Wiley objected to people finding politics in strips where he hadn’t put any. i don’t think he’s objected to political comments on strips with politics in them. that said, i love the phrase, “contrarian persuasion.”

Glenn Beck is not a politician! He is far to honest and up frontfor that. He is an a conservative, God fearing and patriotic American with a radio show and a huge following. That scares the Liberal progressives into a mindless frenzy.Nothing they hate worse than a patriot who thinks for themselves….Puts a damper on their socialist agenda!

Glen Beck? Heard a bit in passing. Oprah, same thing. I mean neither is Adolf swaying the masses to take over. I think they are both entertainers making good money while the makings good. Look at Rush, that high school dropout did a bit of radio personality changing till he found his spot. I see what the network is offering in “entertainment” Oh look, a single mother successfully raising her kids without child support. Her oldest is a rebel in high school taking up controversial causes, Naw, that couldn’t be political.Cries against crime, poverty, political corruption, war, the rich, bosses, Wall Street are shown on comedy shows. Some might think Hollywood a little left of center.? Just look at the biased crap they put out.Luckily we have the First Amendment so both sides can speak. I highly recommend reading both sides. Those damned Republicans/Democrats just might have a good idea.

Glen Beck…first on CNN Headline News and later on Fox News Channel. Good thing he has Talk Radio to fall back on. I’d rather listen to an all-news radio station than him.

Actually, Beck’s theories are the ones that need debunking. He is all over the board, all the time, and hasn’t stopped yet. And I happen to like political humor in comic strips. Wiley hasn’t overstepped anything. This is one of the three or four best strips today.

The liberal hysteria over purveyors of ultra conservative infomercials such as Beck, Limbaugh, etc. is merely an attempt to obscure the fact that ultra liberal policies have been a total failure. Maybe we should all go back and re-read Yeats:Turning and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.

“take something a person said or did and make jokes about it” becomes “they hate someone and lamblast them. Make up stuff or parrot myths that have nothing to do with the actual person” when you get entirely too attached with one side of the political spectrum.

Darkfarce, you are just the kind of person that I think would stop at her booth, someone not in touch with reality. To call out a person in a comic or other humorist method is a form of legitimizing that person. While there is well deserved criticism, there is also recognition.

Sorry, Wiley, but nobody has to take over for Beck. The reason is that the market for hate-filled vitriol is shrinking and so some of the suppliers will go out of business. Just like everything else.

Time and again, Glenn Beck’s factual assertions have been proven false. As attributed to the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, “You are entitled to your opinion, but you’re not entitled to your own facts.”

@JUDITHZAR-The list is your own. Delete it yourself. You can tell by the number of comments it is probably the most popular of all the strips in the A-Z list of available strips.

It’s social commentary, as noted in “Idiot America”, there are lots of idiots and idiotic theories, it’s just that the majority come from the “right”. Beck IS the most hate-filled twit I ever had to stop listening to, even worse than “Rush the junkie”. Coulter is pure hatred wearing the mantle of pure hypocrisy beneath her prima donna tiara.

Danae has several career moves, but she’s just contrarian, not bitterly insane like Beck/Rush or Coulter. Ignoring facts is just human and supported by many “faiths”, to be purely evil and pretend not, is over another edge.

Who in the world is Glenn Beck? Seriously. I’ve heard the name but I honestly don’t know who they are. Am I not getting enough time in front of the TV or something? Or am I just watching the wrong things like History Channel and Cartoon Network (hey, who says an adult can’t reconnect to classics of his childhood like Looney Tunes)?

I care because even though I don’t listen to him, some of my relatives do. Which is how the topic of discussion at Thanksgiving dinner turned to how great President Obama’s assassination would be if only it wouldn’t cause riots by “those people.” I care because as a scientist I’ve seen how both sides have their nuts like Beck who deny not only theories but the observed facts they’re based on, but only the right has allowed them to make policy decisions lately and turned scientific consensuses like evolution and climate change into partisan issues. Which is why I and all of the people I work with have been voting Democratic not by choice but by default.

I don’t see where the comic is “vicious,” where it calls anyone “perverted” or any of the other accusations above. It basically makes fun of the folks who choose to deny scientific evidence. I find it amusing.
