The umbrella is covering part of the “cobras” sign. So what she sees is “push-up bras.” Took me a couple minutes, too.

Great gag. I’ve got to admit, it took me a few seconds to get it–which made it all the funnier.

My brain is in the gutter, I looked at the push up pop shapes, and wondered where they were pushing up

I got it, dismissed it, then had to ‘get’ it again. Whew.

This one takes WAY to much reading into to access it’s meaning. If this wasn’t explained outright above I would never have gotten it. To make sure it wasn’t me, I asked a few other folks and they didn’t get it either.

And so was born an empire (and famous catalogs)….

50 years earlier, Playtex saw a Sno-Cone vendor in that spot and invented those pointy cone-shaped underwire bras.

Victor saw a hot dog vendor there and invented the hot dog bra for men. That one never caught on.

Navy Bean person, Did you read the posts on this cartoon? I was not the only person who did not understand this cartoon. I think I have a right to express my opinion about a cartoon I don’t understand. I’ll thank you very much to allow me to have an opinion about this or that cartoon on this site.
