anyone who thinks they can ā€œmultitaskā€ and serve each task to their best ability is deluded. multitasking only works for computers.

Agree with yyyguy. ā€˜Multi-taskingā€™ is a management cliche like ā€˜Work smarter, not harderā€™. A response I have used: ā€œHow many jobs have you FINISHED this week/month/year?ā€ (Of course, it helps if you are an old friend of your bossā€™s boss, and have finished many projects.)

I donā€™t agree with you, yyyguy and fogey.

    1) Women usually can and do ā€œmultitaskā€ very well, much better than men overall. Ask any good mother. Why, ask any wise child of a good mother. :) (Cf. Proverbs 31.)

    2) Even some men ā€œmultitaskā€ well. Itā€™s how they are wired.

    3) All of our brains are computers in a very sophisticated sense and ā€œmultitaskā€ constantly.

May I ask you to consider whether your put-down of sound management principles reflects your own strengths and weaknesses rather than the alleged lack of soundness of the principles?
