Mr. Amend has the technical aspects correct again, slash commands are how the emote system works in the real World of Warcraft. I’ll have to try the one Paige mentioned… although I may not like the answer.

In World of Warcraft, if you type /played it tells you two things: How many hours you have played total and how many hours you have played at your current level.

My husband did that check when we first got WoW. To our mutual horror, in one month he had spent a total of three weeks online (that’s in hours.) I’d been wondering why it was so quiet around the house. ;) Nowadays he plays LotR online and it’s a bit more reasonable.

I’ve been on WoW for over a year now, and I never do the /played command anymore. After about 6 months the number became a little too shocking to deal with.
