Good things rich people do (besides invest the money): early adopters of technology, collect and preserve antiquities, preserve historic mansions, subsidize other users of docks and hospitals with higher prices, pay more taxes (even with flat tax), philanthropy (who cares if they name the library after themselves).
In a large number of philanthropy cases it is the children and grandchildren of the amassers of great wealth that give it away out of guilt/disgust for the evil done to earn it.
