You can find the Monday panel early on Monday at the Houston Chronicle. The Brookins’ have gone to Texas to enjoy the birth of another grandchild - so they are re-running some favorite Plugger Grandparent panels.

    Good luck!!

HOUSTON CHRONICLE COMICS Includes Pluggers http://www.chron.com/apps/comics/showComics.mpl

At the Houston Chronicle, You can choose to view the comics at FOUR to a page, SIX to a page or EIGHT to a page. The advantage of FOUR to a page is that the strips are larger - and, therefore, easier to read.

Unfortunately, the Houston Chronicle does NOT offer the SUNDAY Funnies at this time - but they are rarin’ to go on Monday!

I know how you feel! A day without Pluggers is like a day without sunshine!

The Houston Chronical came thru first. My selfish motive is that today’s (Mon the 17th) is one of mine. The Grandkids one. Actually, this is the 3rd time it’s been run, once on Sunday. It’s tough to be famous and not rich. The joke’s on me David Lee Jones

I discovered the Houston Chronicle Comics during a Go-Comics dry spell for Fred Basset - One of Fred’s fans was catching up on Fred from the Houston Chronicle. When I had a look at the comics which they offer, I said hot-diggity-dog - they have nearly EVERY comic that I actually enjoy reading! The downer, of course, was that they apparently have NOT offered the Sunday Funnies for more than a month now. But they come up first on Monday morning - and have the Comics which Go-Comics is usually slow in posting on Monday. A win-win situation. Going one-strip at a time is a bummer on Go-Comics - but I DO enjoy reading a lot of the comments - so, again, a win-win situation.

And hats off to David Lee Jones - great grandkids observation. I had one of my Pluggers published once - many LONG years ago - It is the one about the Pluggerette whose Refrigerator keeper dishes all say ‘cottage cheese’ on them - and she has to peek inside to discover what is REALLY inside! Keep on ‘Pluggin’”

Deborah, I remember the cottage cheese one. I’ve had four, but the grandkids one was run three times. My first two were was signed, one by J. MacNelly and then one by Gary and sent to me. Do they even do that anymore? Oh,the fame of it all! Regarding Grandkids, I don’t really have any, but got tired of every famous person getting a lifetime achievment award for doing what they love anyway and getting paid millions, so I made one up for the little guys and gals. I was surprised when I discovered Willy and Ethel at the Houston Chronicle. It had been so long since I had seen that one that I just figured it was no longer available! Our local newspaper dropped strips like Hagar the Horrible, B.C. and Wizzard of Id - along with Garfield, Heathcliff, Marmaduke and a host of others. Our local newspaper hasn’t published Fred Basset for many long years either. I was VERY impressed when I discovered that I could STILL read so many of my favorite comics on the Internet. Now if I could only find someone who had Maggie and Jiggs - my comics round-up would be complete! Keep on Pluggin’ - Glad everyone has found the Houston Chronicle Funnies. It is going on Wednesday already - and STILL no new Pluggers at Go Comics - SUCH a waste!

Deborah, hope you see this! Maggie and Jiggs is available under vintage comics at the DailyInk.com, King Features. They also have the old Beetle Baileys, and a few others. Enjoy!

I will give that a try. I can NOT believe this - ANOTHER day without Pluggers at Go Comics! I hope Go Comics will pick up Pluggers soon. I am addicted to the Sunday Pluggers!
