That’s not Tracy in Panel 1. That’s the French Chef from the muppets….. I was thinking Doonesbury’s B.D. with half his nose lopped off.
Actually I have no real complaints today. The hands and guns seem OK, and well, the profile in panel 1 is a bit rough, but overall this is decent. We may know who the bad guy is, but the villain introducing himself to the hero is a valid story beat.
The shaded side of Jack’s face was bothering me, especially since there’s no apparent reason for it, but really, anyone remember Spots? I mean, wtf was up with him? If Gould could do that, I guess One Eye here is OK.
Some readers find the plot exciting (although we still don’t fully understand it). It’s illusionary, nicely masked by multiple story “movements” something that hasn’t appeared in Dick Tracy for years.
But on closer examination, below the superficial plot line, why kidnap B.O. and ramp up the level of the offence by “crossing the State line” (into Iowa)? Then, let him go, to return as a whitness and thorn in your other eye! And carelessness there in securing and confining police detective Tracy ?
Isn’t is more logical to wipe them out? Already Tracy is acting “alone”, detached from HQ like an over zealous Brighton Spotts. One is left to assume they have removed the “tell-tale” Cleaners Van Tracy left outside the Casino.
Locher is a lot like One-Eye. A depth of vision problem and capable of focusing on only ONE thing at a TIME. When it’s Political Cartoon time (Say, to slam Obama?) Focus flops in DT and all “Smell” brakes loose with “expected” detail in the strip.
I’m not an expert on guns, but that one looks unfamiliar, in fact it’s “obzocy” (i.e. local word for clumsy, out of shape and laughable)
I thought Tracy was “knocked out” from behind with a heavy bottle … not an uppercut immediately under the “nostrills” to “dislocate” it ? (panel one)!

Tracy’s profile is beyond scary in that first panel. Please decide what the character looks like, and stick with it.

Panels 1 and 2 would actually work better if they were swapped - then Jack wouldn’t be responding to his own insult.

Sigh…
Jackie’s outfit keeps changing as we go along.

When someone throws down on you like Jack-O has done, gettin’ smart with them may not be the smartest move in the book!

I think we are going to find out that Jackie Boy is related to Queenie. I thought I saw that in one of the samples that was linked a few weeks ago.
