O.k., we have B.O. being left alive to identify those who kidnapped him, Gerties weapon has changed again (she should bleeep it) and I assume Tracy has still not called for back-up. Yep, things are still the same, and logical sequence and continuity are nowhere to be found.
Ya gotta love Gertie! And B.O.; you look like you’re heading for the drink. I hope you can swim with your arms tied to your body. (I give him a seven for that dive of 3.2 difficulty)
Mr. Locher continues to deliver more action and narrative and excitement in 3 panels than 24 delivers 2 hours with just as much menace and suspense. Chester Gould would be proud.

Well at least we have a hint about the weapon. In order to make player piano music it would need to be a shotgun. Previously it appeared to be an over and under double barrel. Grok is right, if you shoot a shotgun, ESPECIALLY if you farr both barrels, with the stock off your shoulder, you will have a-plenty to fuss about.
Don’t want to be a “killjoy” but the “TMS Features” board has been updated again, to Sunday May 31st, one month further ahead, for those that wish to view it.

A new factor has been introduced, a potential contradiction. Look it up if you wish,
What’s already seen ahead, is that OEJ is knocked out on the Casino table (on 5-16) and Tracy calls HQ via his ‘Gee Nee’ for a Squad but another fight erupts and then the new factor “enters”. By 5-31 the Squad has not arrived, and not a word from Super Boss “Big Ace”
“(she should bleep it)”
I believe the censored word is spelled somewhat like cork, and refers to pulling back the hammer on a single action firearm in preparation of firing it.
The same word is a male chicken, or a vulgar term for the mammalian male reproductive organ.
As to the nature of the firearm, unfortunately most modern comic illustrators seem to have never seen a real firearm, as few of them can accurately draw one.
That stated, it appears to be break action single shot, given the position of the hinge pin, with a stock extension that may make it too long for Gertie to shoulder properly.
A tough old farm girl like Gertie can probably handle a 20 ga. or .410 shotgun held in the manner shown.
I can pistol fire a 12 ga. but I’m a big guy.
Miserichord:
Right you are. Perhaps I should have said “ear back the hammer”. This weapon has undergone several mutations in just this week alone, I expect that it will continue.

Holy cow, they dumped him in I-o-way! They figure he’ll get lost in an old corn maze and never make it back to Napperville.

I DO hope Sparkle Plenty (Tracy) comes to the aid of her dear old Mom. What a neat Mother’s Day gift!

Gravity sucked B.O. out of the car! Is that a pond/lake he’s bouncing towards?

I figured it out. If Gertie is in the third panel, she shoots left-handed. In the first panel, she shoots right handed!
