And (perhaps) lke the six-shooter, she can only zap one-at-a-time (admitted plot-hole), in which case the rest of the mob can still overpower her.
For that matter, whatever happened to Grelber, the guy in the hollow log who gave out “free insults” to everyone? I could easily see him being a part of this crowd.
