I think you’re right, twdixon. It’s about time to switch back to Annie for a few days. After all, the name of this strip is not “Warbucks”.

Sadly, the guy bring the food is not necessarily a “bad guy”. I doubt the bad guys would risk themselves or anyone they feel is important to feed desperate prisoners. Unless they felt a sudden need to gloat and monologue, that is.

It’s called “collateral damage”, CustomDesigned. You see it in every spy movie. I console myself by reminding myself it’s not really happening. Besides, this guy knows full well what’s going on, so he deserves it just like the henchman who stands by while his partner murders their robbery victim. He’s considered guilty of murder as well.

In todays’ economy Warbucks would have to pay for maggoty stew with food stamps.
