    @wwh, a receiver always disturbs the transmitter. That is a basic principle of physics. In the sub-atomic realm, this principle dominates, and is called the “Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle”. Usually, in the case of macroscopic radio, the disturbance is almost immeasurably tiny. However, tuning in through a time machine is hardly “usual”.
