Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Customer: âHi, do you have financing options?â
(I explain the program, and the customer fills out the online form. The site gives an instant decision. She gets declined.)
Customer: âI got declined. I donât understand why.â
Me: âWell, it has to do with your credit. Youâll receive a packet in the mail within 10 business days explaining exactly why you were declined.â
Customer: âThis is ridiculous. Can you help me with this? I think I did something wrong.â
Me: âWell, I wouldnât apply again. Itâs not likely to change and it means that it will run another credit check on you.â
(The customer insists, and begins filling it out with me there overseeing. She gets to the section about annual income and planned purchase amount. She puts $100,000 as her annual salary. Keep in mind, sheâs no more than 25.)
Me: âMan, Iâm in the wrong business. Can I ask what you do?â
Customer: âOh. Well, Iâm a student. But my dad works on Wall Street.â
Me: âBut you make $100,000 per year?â
Customer: âNo, my dad does.â
Me: âBut, youâre applying for the card in your name. They need your annual income.â
Customer: âCanât I just use his?â
Me: âNo, you canât. In fact, what you just did is illegal. Thatâs why you got declined. Youâre trying to commit credit fraud.âCustomer: âOh, I canât do that?â

perhaps they can designate a âcustomer wailing wallâ and forego the âserviceâ employee, altogether.

lol, actually the customer is wrong 90% of the time. 8 years customer service experience pounds this into your head.
