I would enjoy a real tractor beam. Think what it could do for transportation if you could move people, goods, or liquids with a tractor beam.
You could pick up trash. Plow, plant, water, weed, harvest, or other agricultural activities.
Pull mosquitoes, horseflies, gnats, dogflies out of the air — and CRUSH them. Build roads…not that you would need them. Build houses. Launch explosives. Stop the explosives or bullets.
Anything which is currently manual labor could be done flawlessly with tractor beams.
