They actually brought Wally and Bitsy back a year or so ago; they’re married and living in Central City, where Wally’s got a medical practice. The storyline involved a couple of Milford students who’d transferred from Central City. One had a heart condition, but the friends traded physicals so he could play football. The Lambs happened to hit either the homecoming or the Thanksgiving game, Wally saw a player he’d diagnosed with a bad heart, and went charging down to the sidelines to warn Gil.
It’s something I like about the new writers; they do a lot of referencing to characters of years past, as witness the summer’s storyline.
