Noise: Knock knock knock. Petey: Alice! Find your shoes and let's go home! I've been waiting for days! Alice: Guess what! I didn't wear shoes! I wore flip-flops! But I can only find one. Petey: Put it on! You can hop home! Alice: No! I have to find the other flip-flop! It's my favorite! Nara: Is this it?

Nara is being so helpful.

Petey’s temporal units here (“days”) are probably like the spatial units in “how far Alice walked to Nara’s for her special playdate.”

how could you suggest such a thing?! everybody knows its illegal to only wear one! after all then it would only go ‘FLIP’ ‘FLIP’ ‘FLIP’ ‘FLIP’ ‘FLIP’ all the way home :D
GROG Premium Member over 13 years ago
Or it might go ‘FLOP’ ‘FLOP’ ‘FLOP’ all the way home if she’s wearing the other one.

So Alice’s story about lost shoes and socks has made a complete flip-flop.

That looks a little too big for Alice’s foot. I wonder what else Nara has in her “lost and found”?

Gee, Alice, so picky — I mean you could hop — I’ve seen you do it before! :) Actually this could be my grandkids — they’re always having their flip-flops come off no matter how hard they try to keep them on.

You may notice Alice isn’t holding Polyfill. Guess she lost him too!

She wore socks AND flip flops?
old_MK over 13 years ago
Yeah, I shoved flip-flops onto my socked feet once, just to run out and pick my Mom up from work. By the end of the day, I had broken 2 bones in one foot.
Don’t try to run wearing flip-flops and socks…
