Good evening, Jan, and All Who Are to Comeā¦ā¦ā¦.Had a grand day today. We finished our fire pit in the āback fortyā, and are now waiting for a less windy night to have a camp fire. There is something so relaxing about sitting around the campfire and just talking, looking at the stars, and putting your ducks all in a row. :)))
Gooood Morrrnning Vagabonds!!!!MontanaLadyā¦.. I so miss the canpfires, akthough i was almost always the only one at the fire. Of course, for almost two decades I camped alone, a long way from the road. My choice, and iāve never regreted it. Now, the closest I get to a campfire is cedar incense, in small doses because of the COPD. And the incense is getting hard to find nowadays.
Hi, Slim,Iāll bet you enjoyed your solitude!!!! My Mountain Man and I are truly enjoying being āhermitsā out here in the mountains!Fortunately, we can go into town and āpartyā, or go down into the civilization that they call ācitiesā, and visit with everyoneā¦ā¦..but, we really enjoy the solitude. (of course, having all the luxuries that a home and garden and all that stuff gives you doesnāt hurt either.)
@ ML and SS, thank you, but yesterday was just another day, sooo Iāam still 39 yrs. old . heh heh@ davidf42, have a safe trip and donāt eat bean sprouts whilein Germany :-) :-)
@SWEETBILLFirst a question. Are you related to Jaxk Benny?I never has a campfire at the cabin. It was where I lived during cold weather. My campfires were at the places I camped, had a great wood stove at the cabin, though.I much prefered the camps. Iāve camped in olaces where I saw no sign of humans other then the rare light plane that flew over, pretty high up, for weeks. When people ask me if I donāt get lonely Iād just shake my head and tell them, āNope. I get along good with ME. And life was just full of adventures of various sorts and pleasures. Sometimes i even looked for gold!:-))
To continue the above:To me, prospecting was a lot like fishing. Some times you catch a fish, some times you donāt. Most of the pleasure lay in ājust being there!ā. :-)))))

And a Grand Good Day to all.
@Brownceb, You are correct sir. (I must have had my crossed)
How ever the āRocket Manā series started in ā49 with two more in the ā50s. (among the last of itās kind)
We live in a low population aria, the closest not a Mom & Pop store is twenty+ miles away, love it.
So Iāll be going now, might catch you later if I get out to a hot spot.
