Good evening, Jan, and All Who Are to Comeā€¦ā€¦ā€¦.Had a grand day today. We finished our fire pit in the ā€œback fortyā€, and are now waiting for a less windy night to have a camp fire. There is something so relaxing about sitting around the campfire and just talking, looking at the stars, and putting your ducks all in a row. :)))

Gooood Morrrnning Vagabonds!!!!MontanaLadyā€¦.. I so miss the canpfires, akthough i was almost always the only one at the fire. Of course, for almost two decades I camped alone, a long way from the road. My choice, and iā€™ve never regreted it. Now, the closest I get to a campfire is cedar incense, in small doses because of the COPD. And the incense is getting hard to find nowadays.

Hi, Slim,Iā€™ll bet you enjoyed your solitude!!!! My Mountain Man and I are truly enjoying being ā€œhermitsā€ out here in the mountains!Fortunately, we can go into town and ā€œpartyā€, or go down into the civilization that they call ā€œcitiesā€, and visit with everyoneā€¦ā€¦..but, we really enjoy the solitude. (of course, having all the luxuries that a home and garden and all that stuff gives you doesnā€™t hurt either.)

And a Grand Good Day to all.

@Brownceb, You are correct sir. (I must have had my crossed)

How ever the ā€œRocket Manā€ series started in ā€˜49 with two more in the ā€™50s. (among the last of itā€™s kind)

We live in a low population aria, the closest not a Mom & Pop store is twenty+ miles away, love it.

So Iā€™ll be going now, might catch you later if I get out to a hot spot.

@SWEETBILLFirst a question. Are you related to Jaxk Benny?I never has a campfire at the cabin. It was where I lived during cold weather. My campfires were at the places I camped, had a great wood stove at the cabin, though.I much prefered the camps. Iā€™ve camped in olaces where I saw no sign of humans other then the rare light plane that flew over, pretty high up, for weeks. When people ask me if I donā€™t get lonely Iā€™d just shake my head and tell them, ā€œNope. I get along good with ME. And life was just full of adventures of various sorts and pleasures. Sometimes i even looked for gold!:-))

To continue the above:To me, prospecting was a lot like fishing. Some times you catch a fish, some times you donā€™t. Most of the pleasure lay in ā€œjust being there!ā€. :-)))))
