Considering how few trees (especially pine trees!) there are in the desert, I would think that the pine pyramid would cost more than the stone pyramid, of which there was more stone available.

Actually, there are more people buried in pine cones……◘
A pine pyramid probably could not support its own weight unless it was just wooden siding on an earth or stone substructure.
