The learning is what is important, not the grading. All work assigned should increase learning, but not all work is intended to assess what the child knows.
I have to say Towerwarlock, your complaints about modern days usually annoy me, but I agree with you here. Sometimes teachers assign so much homework that they waste big chunks of class time going over it. Most homework assignments are just useless busywork, and they suck the fun out of learning. It’s this kind of “education” overload that drives students crazy and make them bring weapons to school and/or do drugs.

What homework? Just don’t do it if it bothers you. But you’ll have to score big on the tests.
