Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for October 19, 1986
October 18, 1986
October 20, 1986
Transcript:
Mom: Now where did all the bed pillows go? Calvin: This is ganna be soft! Hey, Hobbes! C'mon and jump in the leaves! It's fun! Hobbes: I don't know. Sometimes slugs hide under the leaves. Calvin: No they don't. Do they? Slugs?
I actually didn’t like this one – (1) as a tiger Hobbes shouldn’t be such a big sissy (2) Calvin loves oozy slimy gross stuff why would slugs bother him? (3) I’d think he’d want to catch some slugs and use them to torture Susie (4) who the heck says “BED pillows”?

I’m totally with Calvin. Nature also dive-bombs your face, gives you a rash or makes you really grimy and sweaty. Pass!

FWIW the noun is ‘mucus’. ‘Mucous’ is an adjective.
