Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for June 29, 1988
Transcript:
Dad: Ok, Calvin. Start packing up. We're going home. Calvin: Finally! Dad: Now, now. These little outings are valuable experiences. Calvin: Yeah? How? Dad: They give us a chance to be together as a family and learn about ourselves. Calvin: Like how we can't stand baing in such close proximity with one another this long? Dad: Exactly.

Too true. When we went camping, my parents pretty much thought the best part was when me and my sister got distracted chasing a bird

We had things worked out pretty well on trips. One thing that helped: Mom and Dad agreed that eating should be healthy—but were not so doctrinaire on trips. Two weeks of middling-lousy food won’t kill a person, and it avoided plenty of arguments.
