Things got somewhat hectic today, and I never got to the “Annals of King’s Hill”. It has kids (both kinds). goats, rabbits. chickens and cats, plus a goose named Gabby!Oh, and a horse, too.
Bring it on, Slim. Bring it on.Good morning/evening fellow Villagers. The holiday week-end is almost upon us. How is everyone going to celebrate? I was going to join the hubby in Vegas, but now it looks more like a quiet week-end at home with maybe a BBQ on Monday.
Good Morning, ladies Sorry I didn’t get the "Annals} started. I still have to dig out my on-again-off-again journals. There’s one whose name I can’t remember, I remember both brothers’ names and her sisrer’s. Irritating. Hope I have it written done somewhere. The “Annals” accually began in Shingle Springs, a mile or less, off US 50., east of Sacramento.
Rita, you and I are polar opposites on “The Day the Earth Stood Still”. It’s one of my all-time favorite movies. Michael Rennie & Patricia Neal and Gort. Doesn’t get any better than that. “Klaatu barada nikto”
As for my favorite from childhood, I will say “Sleeping Beauty”. I got to see it for the first time with a scout group (my brother’s cub scouts – always knew he was good for something) in Hollywood at the Cinerama Dome. That and I love the music (whose Russian composer’s name I cannot spell). My least favorite from childhood? “Operation Petticoat” with Cary Grant & Tony Curtis. My folks took us to a drive-in for that one (double feature with Disney’s Cinderella). Boring in the extreme to a kid, although in later years I loved it.
In later years, my least favorite movie that I managed to sit all the way through was “The Party” with Peter Sellers. Really dumb, no story and Sellers and Claudine Longet were not enough to redeem it. My dad, however, laughed uproariously through it and recommended it to all his friends. (I was with him and my mom and couldn’t leave. Otherwise I would have walked out on it.) There are worse movies of which I have seen only a portion, either because I got up and left the theater or turned the channel on the TV. (David Caruso’s “Jade” comes to mind.)
Another apology. Had computer issues, that are as yet unresolved. I seem to be getteing a huge security download, and with the “dial up” it’s taking a lot of time!. (think hours) I did get into my briefcase of writings and stuff and got all caught up in nenories….. Mostly good ones…. Mostly. It doesn’t look like I will get the “Annals” started until next week, as I will be gone until after the weekend.Hope everyone has a great 4th, and remember: Hot dogs are a mandatory food on the Fourth of July!!!
Just checked…. My big download is about 60 percent finished after about three hours, so I probably have two or more to go yet. :-(((((Be back when its over with.

I have a movie question…………….TCM has been running “drive in movies” all day today……….
Name your FAVORITE and your LEAST FAVORITE drive in movie that you saw when you were a KID!!!!
I’d have to say my least favorite was “The Day the Earth Stood Still” …… I still cannot watch it to this day!
And, my favorite has to be “Bambi”!!!!!
