There’s no one single factor that causes a heart attack. Smoking is one of the risk factors.

JS here is not new on Sunday. Our local paper has it on comics section of paper. On Internet comics does not have Sunday JS. Does anyone know where JS for Sunday is not a rerun.

30 years ago or so. When my dad had his first heart attach and back then no stints, he used to smoke then stopped.

@tegm You are correct, but smoking and tobacco use is a huge risk factor and shouldn’t be minimized (or denied).

I am one of the very lucky ones in that I’ve never even tried a cigarette.

AshburnStadium, if you can’t quit completely, try switching to a pipe. You don’t need to inhale because the smoke is far more concentrated (also true, btw, for cigars) and one or two pipes a day will keep you happy for much less money that a pack or two of cigs. BTW, at one point my dad was a 3 pack a day man, and when he quit cold turkey he was still smoking about two packs a day. He lived at least thirty years after he quit, so you can too.
