In the news this past week there have been articles about power blackouts in Detroit because of the intense summer heat wave.Does it seem that the demand would be that much greater with a quarter of the population moved away that the grid couldn’t handle it?Or has the capacity for generating electricity been reduced in that area?

My daughter, her husband and six kids moved away from the Detroit area three years ago. I don’t know who the other 236,492 are.
