Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Holly does not approve! Then again, she may not be as naive as everyone thinks â or, at least, she may be familiar with what kind of âspecial missionâ may be in store for Wally if he decided to go.
Huh. Didnât expect such hostility given that Holly had seemed open to Wallyâs going topside earlier. So, Iâll assume that her reaction is geared more towards the security organization than the topic of the invitation.
Remember to vote at TopWebComics.com. Endtown 2.0 is at 289 with 181 votes @5:30. Letâs push it higher. Also original is at 349. Promote the best post-apocalyptic comic. Give Aaron props for such an entertaining and thought provoking comic.
Itâs great! Even a minor character like Wilkins the Rat [Opossum?] gets his own personality [to say nothing of his own name!]
Thatâs the mark of a good writer, where even [what would be in the hand of a lesser writer] a throwaway, support character [there only to fill a role], is given the respect due to a human being; the acknowledgment that it is a being with its own personality and history; and the time and effort is taken to find out [or develop] just what that beingâs personality and history are.
Wally hasnât had time to look hard At the âmissionâ in which heâd be starred He seems flustered, surprised By the gal heâs so prized And her anger has caught him off-guard Heâs been quite independent, this cat Now sheâs speaking for him and thatâs that So far, heâs just bemused But he wonât be amused And this issue might lead to a spat And it might also lead to the mission At which point Holly might feel contrition Would she then, out of love, Follow him up above? Iâd say âyesâ â my official submission =|====/ Level Head
Wally was at least willing to listen which bodes well for his possible involvement. Many a movie hero has had to suffer the ire of his lady love because of going off to some dire situation. Says a lot for the epic nature of this toon.
Holly looks FIERCE in the last panel!I wouldnât want to get on HER bad side.Aaron has made Wally look bemused, but Holly looks adamant. The little rat better not mess with her.
As for Wallyâs expression, I expect that itâs largely befuddlement. Heâs spent all of his time Topside, so heâs never been exposed to Endtown bureaucracy. Heâs never been âsummonedâ before and has no idea what the words âspecial missionâ mean. Holly probably recognizes them to be â(in)voluntary death sentenceâ.

Gee Wally, you look âMousey-whippedâ. Heâll go and sheâll say âIf you go, then donât come backââŠbut she wonât mean it.
