And all he ever said to Edgar Allen Poe was, “Nevermore.”

If he “lost” it it would not bleed- he plucked it or else he was cut by the ink bottle…

    Good morning, fellow BirdBrainiacs!

Sorry, Lew……I found a lot of faces all over the place. A good one on Quincy’s left cheek, and my favorite kind, in the “shading” of the Raven’s cheek….it is so well defined, even you should see it!

As far as the cartoon goes…….LOL (again!)

Perhaps that persnicity person who perpetuates this page paused his perusal of a ponderous publication of philological phrases on a passage with a preponderance of the primary letter “q”?

I think someone has been playing “words with friends” on his cell phone and keeps getting stuck with a Q.

Funny, but a plucked quill makes a lousy pen, being too soft. You want one of the primary flight feathers, collected after they dry up and fall off during the moult, usually one of the the three left wing flight feathers. The left wing is used by right handed writers as the natural curve keeps it out of your face. Swan, Goose, Crow/Raven, Eagle, Owl, Hawk or Turkey Feather make good quill pens. Ostrich or peacock quills are just showing off (Grin). The right wing flight feathers are used for arrows, for consistent flight behavior. ( It doesn’t really matter if you use right or left feathers, as long as you don’t mix them on the same arrow. Since most of the left quills go to quill pens, the fletchers get what is left over, mostly right feathers.)
