"Any questions before the quiz?" "Did superman carry a man-purse, or did he just leave his clothes in the phone booth?" "I bet that about did it for questions." "Twelve kids asked what a phone booth was."
In the Silver Age of comics, Superman had his Clark Kent outfit super-compressed and tucked away in a pocket in his cape. I guess the writers cooked that up because they were tired of the phone-booth question, too.
You know, the one I always wondered about was The Flash’s costume. He made it out of a special material(?) he invented (?) and he kept the costume compressed in his ring; the costume would expand to full size on contact with air. What they never discussed was: how did he get it back into the ring?
We had a pay phone in our library, but they eventually took it out. I can see kids not knowing what a phone booth it. So, does Superman now change in Port-a-Johns?
