    The actual full quote from Henry Selfridge is, “The customer is always right in matters of taste.” Meaning like if they want to buy an ugly hat let them, not they can do whatever they want and we have to let them. But like many quotations people twist and/or only quote part of it in order to justify being an a-hole.

    I could also point out Selfridge said this as a policy for his department store and therefore technically no other business is obligated to follow it.
