Spaceman Spiff/Calvin: Stranded on a distant planet, the fearless Spaceman Spiff has been captured by a horrible Yukbarf! Yukbarf alien leader: So the earthling villian won't cooperate, eh? I hate that whole “suffering builds character” bull. It does not. It breeds contempt and a whole lot of believing if you didn’t suffer to get something, then you don’t deserve it, which isn’t true at all. Unless you’re a billionaire stealing wealth from his workers, chances are you still had to work to get the things you have. Plenty of things I got through hard work I happened to enjoy that didn’t require my ultimate suffering at the same time. Boomers really need to stop spreading that noise.
