    From the NFL Players Association:

Statistically of the 100,000 high school seniors who play football every year, only 215 will ever make an NFL roster. That is 0.2%!

Even of the 9,000 players that make it to the college level only 310 are invited to the NFL scouting pool from which teams make their draft picks.

If if ‘s and but’s were candy and nuts, we’d all have a happy Christmas. But, alas.

You know, those aren’t bad odds. A 1 in 500 chance to make a league minimum $285,000 / year for a rookie, and it goes up from there? How many people in other professions make that kind of dough, and what are the odds of making that level of pay?

I think they’ll all make excellent plumbers - well at least it looks that way from behind.
