How could UFOs exist? Says right in my dusty black book somewhere that we are the crown of creation. Makes you wonder about God if we are the best he can do. Seems to be a lot of thunderbolts landing around here suddenly.
Just saw proof that the land of BC is in the Southern Hemisphere: It’s the only place where the Sun and Moon move up and to the left as time goes by. Re Life elsewhere: all we can say is, “We don’t know yet.” It is amazing if we are unique and amazing if we are not.
The SETI program (“Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence”) doesn’t cost a lot, relatively speaking. All the equipment being used for it is also performing other tasks, and people around the world donate their computers’ down-time to help analyze the data. It’s engaging to the imagination, and is good PR.
Given the distances involved, it would be impossible (given current understanding about the speed of light and so on) to actually COMMUNICATE with any intelligence we might (perhaps) detect, but it would be HUGE if ever found anything.
This is a mean-spirited jab at a good program. Assuming earth is the only planet in the universe with a civilization is right down there with assuming the sun orbits the earth because we’re somehow special. We can afford to use a tiny fraction of our GNP to attempt communication with other planets, and we should.
Carl Sagan(billions and billions) said in hisbook “Contact”: that given the vastness of the universeand, all the stars that are out there “wouldn’t it be a waste of space if we were the only intelligent beings?”

The proof that there is intelligent life out there is the fact that they refuse to answer us.

The question is, is there any intelligent life on Earth?
