He went to college to party, just like the rest of the kids.

We’ll see how this goes, Gene’s motivation to finish college was driven by Mary Lou. I can’t see her acquiescing to let Gene slack off while so close to getting his degree. BTW, what IS his major?

I wonder what Gene is doing now?

It’d be different if he were wasting his own money. Since his parents made the financial sacrifice (think of all the fun they could have had!), Gene really should finish with a degree.

Get the golden ticket into the American middle class, which thanks to sliding wages, has become the new working class. The old working class are now the working poor, and the former working poor are all on welfare.
