Rip: I know, they've been following us since noon. Let's stop and make camp on the bend of the river for the night. This bluff would be perfect for a last stand. TNT: I think the inside of a tank would be better. Rip: Are you nuts? Look at the way that crag almost kissed the edge of the hill! It's textbook last-stand!

Well, TNT would know; he and Cobra were trapped inside a tank filling with water once. That was very nearly his last stand. (Last swim? Last paddle? Last tred? Whatever.) May 2009.

TNT looks like my tabby cat Twinkie. Butterscotch and white. He does preen like a cat. “Textbook last stand” – absolutely brilliant!
