Actually, I’ve done something similar. It kinda works. Kudos to you, Peter.

Yes, it’s been proven that people will “free run” on a 25 hour cycle if they have no daylight or time cues, but are allowed to control when the electric lights are on, so Peter’s idea is not that far off base. More recent research shows that the actual natural cycle in humans is 24 hours 11 minutes plus or minus 16 minutes

Daylight Savings seems pretty pointless to me. Lots of countries doen’t do it, and they are doing just fine. And it’s actually been proven that most homework assignments are just useless wastes of time.

Notice to the right of the screen, where you can see this strip (website, facebook, twitter) Good thing they didn’t put the Twitter icon in front of the facebook icon…lol (WTF)

So THAT’S what my college-aged son has been doing this summer. Unfortunately the junior high school-aged son has been trying to emulate his brother.

I think Peter is used to waking up early for High School. Besides, he’s been doing it for the last 20 years!

I used to be an early bird. Now, coffee, sodas, and energy drinks are part of my routine.

My dad would never allow such an experiment. The transition from summer to school was hell!

Of course this doesn’t show how Peter will feel next Saturday when he’ll have to get up at 1:30am! (and 4am on Sunday!)

Sign above an Irish pub here in Houston: “If it’s stupid and it works, it isn’t stupid”.Not that I think this will work…when I tried this I ended up sleeping during the day, being awake at night, and staying that way.

Actually, if you change his 2.5 hours to 3 hours, it’s called “chronotherapy,” and it’s what sleep specialist docs prescribe for people with such sleep disorders as “day-night reversal,” or people who have to switch work shifts.

My sleep schedule was so borked last summer, I almost did this. I ended up sucking it up and just getting up early when school hit. Bankrolled oversleeping made it doable. My “natural cycle” always seems to end up around 25 hours. I don’t start feeling tired unless I push myself that extra hour each day. It sucks!
