I’m still annoyed that the Mets left Shea Stadium for another corporate-named monstrosity … at least the new Yankee Stadium isn’t named Verizon Field or something.

In the 60’s and 70s the rallying cry was “God is dead”, once the loudest majority decided that was true, they soon realized they spiritually empty and needed a new god, preferably one they thought they could control. So in the 80s they invented it, it’s name is Greed. And the creators of Greed declared “Greed is good.” Any god needs an organized religion, Greed’s is called Capitalism. America is still one nation under God, it just ain’t Jehovah any more. He’s now been downgraded to the patron saint of Greed. The new god’s turning out pretty harsh though, demands absolute obedience, sacrifice of the weak and strict adherence to dogma. Wonder how long this religion will last?
