Amazing how religion still stirs up so much hostility amongst people. Just the sight of a priest and readers are up in arms. Millions of humans have been killed by other humans all in the name of God. And by the looks of some of the comments here, that passion is still alive and well. If a person is so in love with their God and goes to church every Sunday, or whatever they do to prove that love, then fine. But, if they then in turn lash out towards others with hate and negativity, maybe they should reevaluate their relationship with their God? Who would Jesus hate???

Writing as a pastor, I think Lio spent his money well. Anything that triggers joy and imagination will surely have long term positive results! He stands a better chance of helping humanity this way than trying to appease some guilt appeasing abstract works-righteousness construction buried in pious prose.

He’ll get to Heaven his way, thanks.

you will fly to the moon, lio.

Lio has his priorities.

Making a child happy is surely a good deed. I think Lio wins both ways—spiritually and recreationally.

You’re lucky all he wanted was your money, Liō…

A Catholic priest? Okay, you’ve gone overboard on the scary monsters in this strip.

There is nothing worse than a collection plate in your face.

Yeah, I wouldn’t give my money to those perverts in the Vatican, either.
bama1fan92 about 13 years ago
Interesting that you attack other strips for a religious bias but flaunt your anti-religious bias.
mtatulli Premium Member about 13 years ago
@ bama1fan92: What makes you think this has anything to do with religion at all? This is about a kid and the reality of his priorities.
Incidently, I am a Catholic and I go to church every Sunday, so piss off.
runar about 13 years ago
Why does a deity need money anyway?

Looks like bama struck a nerve.

this is funny but really jacked up. Though on another note; how often do we do that with our time and money?

Honestly, that ten cents probably gave Lio more joy than it would have a poor family.

Not even sure why so many assume it’s a Roman Catholic priest…
