Mr. F stares at her. He says, "I teach english, Miss Phelps." Miss P replies, "I see. You're fascinating. It's the subject that's boring."

I had interesting English classes. The only subjects I remember being boring were 7th grade Science and 10th grade History. I think Fogarty taught both of them, but was going by the names Guidi and Olsen.

That’s the reason. You keep trying different things. Children need concistancy. To continuously give the same response for each action with the same result until they’re familar with the pattern, then they start to comply. A proven and effective method.
