Mom: How was Cartoon Camp, Petey? Petey: Mr. Other Spinnerack wants us to draw a real-life thing. He calls it, "reportage." He said it should be something that's authentic and gritty. Especially gritty. Alice: You should draw about my play at theater camp! It's really gritty! And gummy and sticky! Petey: Ew, I hate comics with kids in them. Mom: Alice, that's a great idea! If it turns out nice maybe we can give it to Grandma for Christmas!

Petey is so meta-aware! (Or are you going to try to tell me that all he meant was that he doesn’t care to draw Alice’s Adventures in Theatreland?)

I love comics with kids in them. Especially 4-9 year olds having a vocabulary of a Harvard graduate.

Especially Calvin, who’s vocabulary out-shines his grades by a long-shot..
