Doug and Linda have names. But the poor disembodied brain in the gun is just DL-571. That’s one way to get “smart” weapons, albeit a gruesome way.

Doesn’t anyone want to ask the PT for its name?

Doug and Linda sit in a PT K-I-L-L-I-N-G First get screams Then get brains Good for weapons or for transport trains * * * I have to wonder: Underneath that gear Both here might be physically attractive But viciousness, born of long-taught fear Has made them caricatures/psychoactive I know of places in the world we know Where children learn to hate from television But here, it only was six years ago These two were grown before the Great Division And yet they hate as people born to venom So deeply that it’s merely play to them Compassion? Mercy? Such things aren’t in ‘em Fate is looming, and it’s looking grim =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum

DL-571 Just a brain in a gun And it answers to what you ask it Though given a voice It had little choice ‘Twixt this weapon, or dust, or casket While possessing cognition There’s no more volition It’s just a Topsider brain Though mind has been taken What’s left might be shaken By memories that remain =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum

You don’t have to be a Boomer to remember Senor Wences. He was a guest (his last TV appearance?) on The Muppet Show and that has been rerun many times since.

I didn’t know the guns had brains in them. That means that Flask is using a human slave every time she waves her gun.

Looks like game shows survived into the post-apocalyptic era. Maybe Holly and Wally should request to appear on “Let’s Make a Deal. . .”

He may look a little scared, but he’s still Wally. You can be sure he’s not about to roll over and let them have their way with him—let alone Holly.

I suppose at least some percentage of the topsiders are actually brainwashed into believing they’re doing the mutants a favor by delivering them from the prison of what they regard as their inferior bodies. They can’t see that the real prisoners are themselves, both ideologically and physically.

Okay, I get that their is a mutilated head in a cubby hole in the PT but, I don’t see how the gun is big enough to hold a brain let alone a hole human head. The average brain alone weighs about 6-7 lbs.

It’s been shown that those suits they wear are pretty weak to claws, and even one cut in the suit is enough for them to transform. All one of them needs to do is get one good slash at either of them and escape in the confusion.

“Hellish existence”? One tiny rip in their suits, and their days of watching The Price is Right are over…

Hellish existence? Doug and Linda are the ones who will never be able to walk outside without suits ever again.

I can’t think of anyone who has ever said, “I wanna be a de-materializing ray gun when I grow up.”
